Sleeping in another room

You've been sleeping in another room since last week when SL came for sleepover. JK had kicked you several times when we were sleeping in the same room. You've grown taller and taller since Dec 2018. Lately you were selected to join the BM story telling competition. There were few others and you have to stay back after school to practice hand gestures. Singing band competition is coming too. It'll be on the 25th Aug. You main solo parts will be shared with another little indian girl who also has a high pitch voice.

Prepared breakfast at 5:30am - 11 years old & 4 months old

This is the first time you did this.

Mommy had period pain these 2 days and you woke up at 5:30am to prepare breakfast for yourself and didi. You made egg sandwhich using the mini buns. You also filled up both water bottles and woke didi up to get ready. Mommy rested on the sofa just incase you needed me for the first morning. But for the second morning, when you made noodles, I did not have to be downstairs because I've seen you did it few times.

Daddy sent both of you to school and both of you are so happy to be early. You get to chat with all your friends.

Joining new school

You missed the first week of school due to influenza B. Mommy called up the school to get your class teachers email. I emailed her to request for her phone number for quicker communication. Alas, she whatsapp me & I was so glad because it'll be easier to ask her if I've any questions. Next, I received an email from your math teacher and I replied him to request for phone number too. He too whatsapp me and I was so glad.

On the first day of 2nd week, it was an assembly day i.e. Monday. We reached school early. I helped you to carry up your storage box and see you settle before I bring JK down to his class.

I waited for you to come out from the assembly hall i.e. around 9am plus to ensure you are no longer feeling dizzy.  Guard came to ask me if I've registered. I said I've been here since 7am. I said my daughter's coming out and I'll leave once I see her. I said to the guard that he can wait for me together. Haha. Not long after that you came out with Jamie. You looked happy & chatting happily with Jamie. So I left the school with a peace of mind.

Leaving TISPC end of 2018

Couldn't believe that it has been a year since I last updated your blog. Today, daddy and I went to your school to watch your performance at 10am. You sang I'm Alive and you're the lead singer. He couldn't take leave to attend your graduation on Wednesday 21st Nov. You sang the same song during your graduation day but you did not smile and dance to the music. But today, you performed well. That's because you practiced last night.

We stayed for the whole assembly which ended around 11am. Then, daddy and I went back. Daddy went to work and I went back to school to pick you home. However, we stayed back until 3pm. You wanted to spend more time at school, walking around and taking pictures with your teachers and friends.

Getting more difficult to be your Tooth Fairy

Dear darling ZY, it has been so hard to be your Tooth Fairy now as you can recognise from the way I wrote the letter.  I want you to continue to have a fantasy cos you enjoy it didn't you?
Moreover, JK hasn't has any of his teeth coming off yet, so I hope I can also give him this dream of having tooth fairy coming over to reward him.
In this 2nd letter to you from Tooth Fairy, I've tried to write it different from my usual tone. Somehow, you still feel that it is me. HAHA!
I've to find a casing or a little pouch too in the middle of the night to place your tooth, gold coin and the letter. I kept wanting to smile when going through this whole process.  I even took the last letter as reference. Initially, I put them in a pouch which I own since like 20 years ago. After putting it under the pillow, I thought maybe it's a bit dirty and you shouldn't have it. I couldn't sleep and got up again to remove the pouch, just left a magnetic transparent casing. Finally, I went to bed at 2am.

9 years and 9 months old - First Public Speaking

On last Friday, after school, before you joined your friends to District 21,you told me that you raised your hand when asked by teacher who wanted to join Public Speaking competition. I messaged teacher through Remind to get more details of the competition and I received a word document from her, stating the date of the competition, 3 students being selected, 1st speech has to be 2 minutes.  4 winners will be selected.  Winners will draw a topic, given 10 minutes to prepare a 5 minutes speech.

Luckily on Sunday afternoon, we decided to check out Modern English center to check out their English classes and both you and jk went for the assessment.

At the center I saw a leaflet about Public Speaking class. I immediately asked if they have a 1-1 session just for these few days before your competition on Wednesday. the principle Steve said he will talked to his teacher after 2.30 pm if he is interested. So teacher Mike whatsapp me later at 3pm.  We discussed the time and rate, sent him the words document with the competition details. He charges RM50/hour and RM100/2 hours. I asked if he can start on Sunday that evening. He agreed.  What a relief!!

So you had 3 classes with him at 7-9pm on Sunday, 6.30-8.30 on Monday and 6-8.30pm on Tuesday with him.

Today is the day of your competition and I've been feeling so nervous. I can't watch cos parents aren't allowed to attend. I hope you enjoy the moment. It's a good experience. You feel proud that you joined and you hope to win this competition. I'm delighted to hear this as you have never wanted to win anything. Even selected to join swimming competition, you turn the offer down.

9 years 4 mths old -Swimming team

Last night you told me that you've been offered to join your school's swimming team but you weren't sure if you should join. But in the end, you decided that you'll give it a try.
