4 years & 2 months old

What happen in Oct & Nov? Mommy didn't update much because you're sick most of the days and mommy's tired at work. I even nod off while comparing 2 datas. That's serious. I also nodded off while driving to work and back home. You had HFMD again. But this round, you only had sore throat, slight fever and a red dot on your palm. Mommy love you so much and so heartsick to see you sick.

Every morning since last month, mid November, mommy started to give you vegetable for 3 meals. You are still having phlegm now. Mommy gives you half cup of hot water to drink every morning to help you cough out the phlegm easily. After drinking the hot water, mommy will do deep breathing with you for about 10 times. Then brings you to the toilet, ask you to cough hard with mouth opened wide, while mommy pat on your  back to help you cough out the phlegm easily.

You join Sue Yin for Vital Years on Tuesday and teacher Nicole accessed you. She said she would put you on Level 3, 3rd book. Sue Yin just started Level 3 book 1. She said you're a clever and smart girl but you seemed a little tired. I told her it is your nap time actually at that hour.

You've been going to condo since last 3 days. If everything goes well, you'll go to condo everyday from this week onwards and stop going to school. Actually, you've stop going to school since mid of Nov. You'll go to Vital Years with Sue Yin from now on. These few nights when you got home, you were so tired & cranky and went to sleep around 9:30pm.

Magdelene will continue going to school since she's used to the day care routine & the teacher there. She's always so obedient at school so teacher loves her very much. So, there's nothing much to worry about her. As for you, you keep falling sick if you go to school because you like to put your fingers in your mouth. My assumption is you're hungry. Since young, when you're hungry, you always put your fingers in your mouth. So since I stopped you from going to school, you seldom put your fingers in your mouth because I give you lots of food at home.

Lately you keep wanting to sleep with granny but granny can't sleep with you because she's just not used to sleeping with you. She just can't fall asleep if you're sleeping beside her. You make me feel so depress because you seemed so sad when I don't allow you to sleep with granny. You asked me why not & I explained. But still, you were upset. So, at last, I came up with an idea i.e. to be sad myself and show you my sad face when you are upset. When you see my sad face, you will try not to be upset.

Reading SMS

Last night you went out with yeh yeh and da gu. They just came back from HK and were going to have their dinner. It was almost 9:30pm i.e. almost your bedtime and you're still not home.
So I called daddy to see if he has picked you from yeh yeh's house. Right after I ended the call with daddy,you came back. So I SMS daddy and told him you're home so that he wouldn't need to pick you up from yeh yeh's house anymore. Not long after that, daddy messaged and said ok. So you took the phone and read all the messages I sent to daddy. Hehe!! I'm really happy that you can read now.

Reading & baby brother - 3 years and 11 months old

Mommy hasn't been able to give you as much attention as before and hasn't been teaching you anything since didi arrived. Mommy will make time for you when mommy has fully recovered. Meanwhile, mommy gets tired easily.

The day mommy gave birth to didi, you visited mommy at night at the hospital. You came with granny, Sin Yee ah yee, Magdelene & Adam yi zang. Yeh Yeh and nai nai along with others arrived earlier. Gong gong visited mommy and didi despite his health condition. Gong gong just had a nose surgery the week before and hasn't fully regain his normal stamina and he gets tired easily. Gong Gong said he couldn't stay back and really wanted to see didi and mommy despite having to drive for 2.5 hours. Mommy could see that you really love your little didi from the way you looked at him. You said didi is cute.

For the next 2 days after didi was born, daddy brought you to accompany mommy during the day at the hospital because you've been missing me. Mommy stayed at the hospital for 3 days. So, for 2 nights, you had to sleep without mommy. You didn't cry. Daddy read story book to you before bed time, just like what mommy did before, then you had milk and brushed your teeth before you sleep.

Since didi arrived, mommy hasn't got much chance to read bed time story to you. Now, daddy reads to you every night. I miss reading to you very much my darling. I miss doing things which I've been doing with you before didi arrives. Mommy is so busy with pumping out breast milk, feeding didi, doing laundry and etc.

Your development:
You can read independently. This is the result of mommy's continuous effort for the past 2-3 months. Mommy knew that we won't have much time for each other when didi arrives and one thing I wanted you to achieve is to be able to read independently so that when I'm busy, you can read by yourself.

I was surprised when you read the Oxford Reading Tree series which MC ah yee bought for you from UK. At first, you wanted me to read as you never try reading any book by yourself without mommy guiding you. I was busy and asked if you could try reading it yourself while I was just standing nearby putting in some bottles into the steriliser. So, you looked at the book and paused for a second, and you tried and managed to read the sentence correctly. Since then you gained confidence. All of my effort wasn't wasted. before didi arrived, I showed you 100 basic words flash cards and read your favourite story books again and again.Of course, not all 100 card for a session. Each session, we only played with about 30 cards, depending on how much time we've left before bedtime. We normally reach home around 9:30pm from yeh yeh's house. Every session was like a game and you enjoyed every session very much. We had your soft toys together and pretended they're your friends or babies.

Your phonics improved and I was surprised. I tested you by saying the phonics for a 3 letter word and you managed to say the word out. Eg, I say "Berh eh gurh" (bag), "keh eh terh"(cat) & etc.

Although alot of other children could read earlier than you, but I'm already satisfied with your achievement already.

At 3 years old and 8 months

For 2 nights already, you didn't ask for milk before you sleep. You just hugged your blanky and fell asleep after awhile, by yourself.  Maybe this is how you go to sleep at daycare. Previously, before going to the daycare, you used to ask for 8OZ of milk every night before bed time. Sometimes you even ask for more after you've finished the first bottle. It was getting too much sometimes and I was thinking when would you be able to go to sleep without consuming so much of milk.

Since last month, you've discovered how to close your eyes with both your hands whenever mommy washes your hair. Previously, even if I ask you to close your eyes with both hands looking downward, you'd still feel afraid to do so. You used to look up the ceiling so that the water won't get into your eyes. Now, whenever I said close your eyes, you'll close your eyes with both your hands. Sometimes you'd stand under the shower to wash your hair head down while closing your eyes with both your hands.

I forgot to mention that last month, you got your first bicycle from yeh yeh which he bought from Giant. You liked it so much that you cycled non stop at home, round and round the living hall. Sometimes, we take you to Sue Yin's condo's club house to cycle. They have a big space there for party or other occasions. Sue Yin has a purple bicycle and yours is green colour.  You're like mommy, love to cycle.

Second day at daycare

Mummy called up at 5:30pm.

Morning:
Breakfast: Cake
Revision

Lunch: Dry noodle. Let the children mix soya sauce & tomato sauce with noodles by themselves. You had 2 bowls.

Shower: Children need to put their dirty clothes in their plastic bag. Usually after shower they'll throw their towel onto the floor. So better label their towel.

Slept from 2:15 to 4pm.

Time spent on TV: Maximum half an hour - during drinking water session and after shower.

Tomorrow you'll have art session.

Today you snatched toys from your friends. Teacher said to share but you said you don't want to play with them then you took a toy and went away. Teacher tried to comfort mummy by saying "they're just children, don't worry".

I told teacher that you said Chen Fong rolled over and bang your head yesterday. When I asked if it's painful, you said no. Teacher said don't worry, children are all like that.

Teacher said you didn't finish the sugar doughnut. You just had about 5 pieces and you told teacher that you're full.

Teacher said alot of people like you there. You like to make people laugh. You will ask if what happen if you see someone is sad. That's my girl. That's what mummy like you to be, to bring happiness to people around you.

What you did on your first day at daycare

Mummy called up at 5:15pm to check how was your first day. Teacher said everything was alright. Kakak shower you and had to stay with you to see you sleep.

10 children in your room, a/c 26 degrees, fan speed: 1, curtains down.

When granny picked you up at 5:30pm, you looked happy and not sweaty. You ate your dinner so quickly and really seemed like you had a great day at daycare.

Upon checking your bag, realised that they put on your long sleeve and long pants for nap time, then t-shirt and short pants after you woke up. They also kept your pillow and towel at school.

First day at daycare

Today is your first day at daycare. Mummy has been thinking alot about whether or not to send you to daycare but seems like I don't have a choice eventhough I feel so heartache. Granny is not capable of taking care of you and Mag by herself without Kakak. Kakak is not coming back anytime soon and mummy will deliver didi in July. Tentatively, ah yi and mummy have decided to let both of you try out for 1 week. If everything goes well, then both of you will stay at the daycare until kakak comes back.

Well, how do I prep you mentally over the weekend? I came up with the idea and told you that your school is a magical school. In the morning, it's a school. It changes into a sleeping wonderland for the children in the afternoon. All the children will shower, have their lunch and nap in the school. You'll get to help teacher to put little mattress on the floor for the children to sleep. Teacher will say "this mattress is for ZY and this is for Mag". Mummy told you that you'll get to sleep together with your friends like Chen Fong and Jonas. You seems pretty positive about staying at the daycare after I told you this.

This morning, I called up and teacher Amy said you told her you wanted to sleep with Chen Fong. She said you and Mag were very cheerful and were in a very good mood. I felt relieved.

I told teacher you'd be needing alot of snack like biscuits or bread after lunch. She said she'll ask Cikgu Cindy to offer you some in between lunch and milk time. I also told teacher that I'll pack some for you tomorrow.

Saying sorry..

We reached home very late around 11pm last night. You wanted to play at the park and cycle with Sue Yin.
When we finally got home, you started to get a bit cranky. That's the part I started to fume up. You're all dirty and so, both of us had a quick shower. Then you had your milk & wanted to read a story book, but it was too late. I said you should have come home earlier next time if you wanted me to read a book for you in a stern tone. You knew I was very angry. You were lying on the bed trying to sleep while I changed into my pyjamas and get ready to go to bed to be with you. After I was done, I got on the bed to accompany you. Your back were facing me and you said sorry in a very guilty tone. I felt sorry for you too. I said next time we really need to come home earlier. All of us were so tired and we couldn't read a book. You were such an angel to say sorry.. Mommy too feel sorry to have scolded you.

The other day, at Sue Yin's park, Yeh Yeh asked you to go into the fountain pool and play. My God!! That's so dirty. But I've got no choice, you're already in. It was so late at night already and you got all wet!! You know, mommy got so angry cos you just recovered from flu and cough & I was just afraid you might get them back. Mommy hadn't been sleeping well for almost a week already and I was near to insanity. Then we went up to Sue Yin's house to have a shower and changed into Sue Yin's pyjamas. In the shower, you said "sorry mommy".. my heart melted. You knew I was very furious with you for jumping into that fountain pool.

MSN Space to Wordpress & lastly.... To Blogspot

I'm glad that I'm blogging through Blogspot now. However, after transferring all my blogs over, some blogs have too much paragraph spacing. Sigh .. I don't know how many of the blogs are like that!! Anyway, nevermind.

Independent 3 years and 6 months old toddler

Daddy's company organized another activity where their staffs get free tickets to watch the movie Thor at Midvalley. So mommy gets to watch it for free too as they are allowed to bring their partner. Daddy called Yeh yeh to pick you from our house to go to their place around 7pm. After the movie, we went to pick you up but you didnt want to go home. So, nai nai suggested we go home to get a shower and come back later. We did as told. Our 2nd attempt to take you home almost failed too. This round, you said you want to sleep over. Gosh!! You are so independent. Mommy is not emotionally ready yet you know?? Further, I didn't want you to tire yeh yeh and nai nai as they'd be the ones to watch over you and not da gu. You said you want to sleep with nai nai & yeh yeh. You insisted we don't accompany you there. However, after half an hour, you gave in & followed us home with a sad face.

3 years and 6 months old

I'd like to mention here how chatty you are in school. All the teachers have been saying that. Teacher Wong finds you cute because you'd asked is it your turn to talk yet. I like your chattiness and I hope your teachers in school won't kill that character. You're not afraid to talk to strangers and by that you always win the old folks heart. Gong Gong loves your character and is always very entertained by the things you say. He would repeatedly say what you said to people who hasn't hear about it.

Teacher said sometimes you say something out of the topic taught in the class.

I called up and Teacher Amy told me that you're still manageable, otherwise, other teachers will be complaining to her about how to handle you. She said you listens when you're told to wait for your turn to talk. So, you're manageable. THe only thing that worries teacher is that your absent rate is quite high, same goes to Magdelene. She also mentioned that you're poor in your mandarin and bahasa. I told teacher I'll try to teach you more at home.

This weekend's sports day you'll be having Uncle Roy & AH hwa Ah Yi to replace mommy and daddy since mommy is 7 mths pregnant and daddy had knee injury due to gym.

3 yrs old & 4 mths

We went to HK disneyland during CNY and I didn't thought you'd be so brave & not afraid at all of the characters. You were like chasing them in the restaurant & kept asking why they haven't come to our table.

You were having flu & cough before we went to HK. But upon reaching HK, you recovered. Your mucus dried up. I think because the weather was very dry. You still had a bit of cough though. However, the last day before we came back to KL, you had your flu back. Sigh..so you stayed home and skipped school.

Teacher pass your books to Mag. THere were homework for you to do.

Unexpectedly, you actually love to do homework & you couldn't stop. Page after page. You could sit there about 1 hour non stop doing writting & matching with lines & colouring. You know your letters & phonics really well. You've changed. You actually wrote from letter C to G non stop. 2 lines for each letter. You didn't even need to rest. You're very careful at colouring, trying not to colour out of the line. You can hold the pencil perfectly well. Last year, before you turn to 3 yrs old, teacher already complimented you on that and said you'll be so ready to start writting this year.

You drew on the magnetic board some squares and you were so engrossed. You told me that's a professors house with doors and lots of windows. Hahahaha!! Actually, when you were little, I think about 2yrs old, you drew a bag and a kite before.

You're always asking "what can I eat?" or "what can i play".

You always share your food with Mag. Although it's just a small piece.

Oh..before I forgot. You know, after we came back from HK, I can see that you miss your bed & home, although at the same time you miss mickey too.
That week, daddy & I came home quite late. You became emotionally unbalance I think. So you were abit teary quite easily & woke up in the middle of the night to play. Mommy was so tired and fell sick.
Then I thought to myself..why have you become so teary all of a sudden. You were always so chirpy. After that, I tried to use the 5 minutes whisper after you fall asleep for the past 3 nights already and make you smile in the morning before I go to work & cuddle you to sleep on the bed at night. They worked. You are now back to yourself, a chirpy little girl. Haha!

Some updates before 3 yrs old 3 mths

Mommy forgot to put these in earlier.

There was 1 evening, we're on our way to IOI mall. You were very excited, as usual, you shouted "Oh that's IOI, that's IOI". Then you turned to mommy's stomach and said this to baby "Oh, baby you cannot see cos you're inside, Hahahahaha!!!" ...

There was 1 morning, daddy & I were getting ready to go to work. You asked where are we going. I said we need to go to work otherwise we don't have money. Then you said "but you already got money".

There was 1 evening, you were upset cos I asked you to stop playing with your bath toys & get dressed quickly. You were grumpy and while I was dressing you up, you said "tell me where you want to take me and i won't get angry".. with your pouty lips & sour face.

There was 1 morning, mommy felt like eating roti canai. So you had 1.5 pieces!!

3yo & 3mths

You started Heguru class since 8th Jan. So far, we've attented 2 classes. There are only 6 children in the class accompanied by one of the parent. There are lots of creative activities in the class carried out by the teacher & her assistant which manage to get your attention most of the time, compared to Tweedle Wink.

Every night, you go to granny's room and snuggle into her bed. Sometimes you can spend so long there without me being with you. You'd take granny's comb and pretend it's a microphone. Then you'd introduce yourself & sing few songs. So cute!

You also like to hide under granny's comforter. Seems like Granny's room is like a big playground to you. After you're satisfied, only then you'll follow me back to our room to sleep.

You're very good at sharing your food too. The other day, on Sue Yin's birthday, we had dinner with Aunty Mee Lin, Aunty Bee Yong & Aunty Choon Keok. At the table, You were not shy to talk to them at all and you share with them your crackers.

After dinner ended, we headed to yeh yeh's house. You sat on Aunty Mee Lin's lap and we were sitting behind. You sang Santa Clause is coming to town. You even corrected Aunty Mee Lin for singing the "Hey" part as "Oh". You said "No, it's hey, not oh". Everybody laughed. Your expression on your face & your actions just made us laughed.

Everybody said you're very sociable.

Nowadays, you really know how to care for Magdelene. You would try to make her stop crying if she cries. No doubt sometimes, you're still very loud and you frighten her, and at times, you're still very bossy. You always come up with lots of ideas & she'll play along with you.
