First Permanent Teeth - Oct 10th, 2013

You've got your first permanent molar popped up & you're so happy because Mag & SY already have theirs popped up earlier.

6 years & 1 month old

Next month you'll be going to big school to attend your orientation for a week. Mommy's feeling very anxious about it. I'm afraid you'll get lost. I wish I can wait at the school for you until I'm sure you know the school well. Luckily you're not alone. You have Mag to go with you and both of you will be in the same class. This orientation starts from 8:30am to 12:30pm. Then aunty Pearl from daycare will fetch both of you and other children to her daycare. Mommy will pick you up from the daycare later at 6:30pm.Sin Yee ah yi and mommy will take half day leave on your first day to bring both of you to school & to buy the required exercise books. On the coming Sunday, we'll go to the uniform shop to buy a set of school uniform, white school shoes & a big school bag. Oh my, why do you have to grow up so fast. I wish I've more time for you but I've to work to ensure we have sufficient money for everything. You can shower & brush your teeth by yourself. Ever since you started going to Total Child, you wake up and get changed by yourself without being told. I'm so proud of you. This month, we stopped Eye Level as you have extra dancing classes. On Sat: 10am-10:45am Ballet 12:30pm-1:30pm Latin Dance 2pm-4pm Chinese dance 5pm-6pm JMC 6pm-7pm Latin Performance practice Sunday: 9:30am-11am Art 2pm-4pm Ballet Performance practice I'm so impress with your ability. You don't want to stop any of the classes.

5 years and 10 months old

Today at the Chinese dance, I saw that you were very tired. However, you persevered. I never see you so determine before. Your performance is in Dec and today it's the second time you had to practice for 3 hours. Last week you were not well & had food poisoning. Even with that, you wanted to go for latin and Chinese dance. I was with you all the time at your dancing class to ensure that I'm there for you when you are tired, to hug you and to give you mental and emotional support. You were so willful to learn the dance steps, which are very confusing to me. Wow, I'm so impressed with you. I must write this down so that you know how proud I am seeing your determination and perseverance towards dancing. After dancing, you wanted to go cycling to show me you can cycle with 2 wheels now. Again, I'm very impressed with your determination. You were able to cycle on 2 wheels a little on your second attempt and successfully on your 3 attempts onwards. When you first cycled on 2 wheels, you had to stop because you were out of breath. It was too exciting for you that your whole face turned red and your heart thump so hard and fast. You were unhappy due to short of breath. I think you were disappointed at yourself for not able to continue to practice. Mummy and daddy told you it's normal and it happened to us before too. Your palms were all red and swollen abit as you gripped the handle very tightly on your first attemp. I'm so proud of you and love you so much.

How To Play Sand Art and Keeping the place clean

Mommy suddenly got an idea as to how to keep the sand away from the floor and table and everywhere.
First, take some newspapers. Clip the sides to make it into a tray. Cut the side of the newspaper to make a pocket to hold the packs of sand. This way, when you feel tired, you can always put the tray aside and continue doing the next day or whenever you feel like it.

5 years old and 9 months - First canvas & JMC

You did your first canvas which is a drawing of some flowers in a vase. It's so pretty. Your teacher is very talented and knows only children has this ability to produce such drawing on canvas. She said when the children get a little bit older, they will not be able to produce such cute drawings anymore. She meant those drawings which are not proportionate for example big head and small body etc.

Now, you're more confident at drawing. You used to have no confidence in drawing and didn't want to draw at all. I'm so happy you finally draw.

You started JMC this year and you love it. Timing is abit rush as on Saturday morning, you have Eye Level (math), followed by Mrs. Seabourne's english class and then JMC. Mommy always go into the class looking exhausted.

You have stopped chinese dance couple of months ago and stopped Heguru just last month. You didn't like chinese dance because you said it's too long hours. Mommy stopped you from Heguru because your schedule is too packed and I seriously want you to just play on Sunday, not travelling to go for classes. I'm glad now we have Sunday off. We get to go cycling in the morning or evening, we get to go out or have SY over to have fun or go over to condo for a swim.

Changed school at 5 years and 8 months old

After complaining to me about one of her teacher in school for 4 months, I had it enough and changed her to another school. It's SY's school. I didn't survey around. I trust da gu's choice.
I started you with full day. We tried for a week then decided to go back with SY at 12:30pm.

You liked the new school as you have been there before during the holiday programme whereby you had so much fun.

Back to kindergarden: 5 years and 3 months old

You're back to your previous kindergarten from morning until evening. Teacher said at the beginning you were shy to mix with the children and you were so quiet an reserved compared to last time. However, after few days, you were better and joined your friends in games after nap.

Teacher said your mandarin is good and you can pronounce the words very well. She also mentioned that you are easily distracted. All the teachers were watching how you got distracted when you were on your way to put your lunch box into your bag. The principal said you are very easily distracted like her son.
