Sleeping in another room
You've been sleeping in another room since last week when SL came for sleepover. JK had kicked you several times when we were sleeping in the same room.
You've grown taller and taller since Dec 2018.
Lately you were selected to join the BM story telling competition. There were few others and you have to stay back after school to practice hand gestures.
Singing band competition is coming too. It'll be on the 25th Aug. You main solo parts will be shared with another little indian girl who also has a high pitch voice.

Prepared breakfast at 5:30am - 11 years old & 4 months old
This is the first time you did this.
Mommy had period pain these 2 days and you woke up at 5:30am to prepare breakfast for yourself and didi. You made egg sandwhich using the mini buns. You also filled up both water bottles and woke didi up to get ready. Mommy rested on the sofa just incase you needed me for the first morning. But for the second morning, when you made noodles, I did not have to be downstairs because I've seen you did it few times.
Daddy sent both of you to school and both of you are so happy to be early. You get to chat with all your friends.

Joining new school
You missed the first week of school due to influenza B. Mommy called up the school to get your class teachers email. I emailed her to request for her phone number for quicker communication. Alas, she whatsapp me & I was so glad because it'll be easier to ask her if I've any questions. Next, I received an email from your math teacher and I replied him to request for phone number too. He too whatsapp me and I was so glad.
On the first day of 2nd week, it was an assembly day i.e. Monday. We reached school early. I helped you to carry up your storage box and see you settle before I bring JK down to his class.
I waited for you to come out from the assembly hall i.e. around 9am plus to ensure you are no longer feeling dizzy. Guard came to ask me if I've registered. I said I've been here since 7am. I said my daughter's coming out and I'll leave once I see her. I said to the guard that he can wait for me together. Haha. Not long after that you came out with Jamie. You looked happy & chatting happily with Jamie. So I left the school with a peace of mind.

Leaving TISPC end of 2018
Couldn't believe that it has been a year since I last updated your blog. Today, daddy and I went to your school to watch your performance at 10am. You sang I'm Alive and you're the lead singer. He couldn't take leave to attend your graduation on Wednesday 21st Nov. You sang the same song during your graduation day but you did not smile and dance to the music. But today, you performed well. That's because you practiced last night.
We stayed for the whole assembly which ended around 11am. Then, daddy and I went back. Daddy went to work and I went back to school to pick you home. However, we stayed back until 3pm. You wanted to spend more time at school, walking around and taking pictures with your teachers and friends.

Getting more difficult to be your Tooth Fairy
Dear darling ZY, it has been so hard to be your Tooth Fairy now as you can recognise from the way I wrote the letter. I want you to continue to have a fantasy cos you enjoy it didn't you?
Moreover, JK hasn't has any of his teeth coming off yet, so I hope I can also give him this dream of having tooth fairy coming over to reward him.
In this 2nd letter to you from Tooth Fairy, I've tried to write it different from my usual tone. Somehow, you still feel that it is me. HAHA!
I've to find a casing or a little pouch too in the middle of the night to place your tooth, gold coin and the letter. I kept wanting to smile when going through this whole process. I even took the last letter as reference. Initially, I put them in a pouch which I own since like 20 years ago. After putting it under the pillow, I thought maybe it's a bit dirty and you shouldn't have it. I couldn't sleep and got up again to remove the pouch, just left a magnetic transparent casing. Finally, I went to bed at 2am.

9 years and 9 months old - First Public Speaking
On last Friday, after school, before you joined your friends to District 21,you told me that you raised your hand when asked by teacher who wanted to join Public Speaking competition. I messaged teacher through Remind to get more details of the competition and I received a word document from her, stating the date of the competition, 3 students being selected, 1st speech has to be 2 minutes. 4 winners will be selected. Winners will draw a topic, given 10 minutes to prepare a 5 minutes speech.
Luckily on Sunday afternoon, we decided to check out Modern English center to check out their English classes and both you and jk went for the assessment.
At the center I saw a leaflet about Public Speaking class. I immediately asked if they have a 1-1 session just for these few days before your competition on Wednesday. the principle Steve said he will talked to his teacher after 2.30 pm if he is interested. So teacher Mike whatsapp me later at 3pm. We discussed the time and rate, sent him the words document with the competition details. He charges RM50/hour and RM100/2 hours. I asked if he can start on Sunday that evening. He agreed. What a relief!!
So you had 3 classes with him at 7-9pm on Sunday, 6.30-8.30 on Monday and 6-8.30pm on Tuesday with him.
Today is the day of your competition and I've been feeling so nervous. I can't watch cos parents aren't allowed to attend. I hope you enjoy the moment. It's a good experience. You feel proud that you joined and you hope to win this competition. I'm delighted to hear this as you have never wanted to win anything. Even selected to join swimming competition, you turn the offer down.

Recently you have been telling me long stories from your books from memory and I think you have amazing memory to remember such long story.
You have joined Aikido since August and you really liked it. Master said you are very serious when learning.
At school, everyone loves your food especially ikan bilis and ladies finger.
Sometimes you bring multivitamins to school to share too.
Every weekend you have to do your homework challenge where you have to google to search for facts and pictures.

8 years & 10 months old - Counter Bullying
We always have bed time talk. Just last week, you told me that 1 of your best friend J did something bad. You cried. I asked what did you do when she did something bad? Can you manage? You said you just walk away & don't bother. But you feel very upset about it.
Next morning, I woke up at 5:30am, couldn't sleep back, thinking about your problem. What or how should I help you or how should we look at this matter. Seeing you cry it's extremely heart breaking. On our way to school, I asked you what did you do after J did that "something" to you. You said you just walked away & tell yourself let the negatives go away, positive come come come. Luckily, on our way to school, an idea just popped up. I told you that in this world, there are many J we will meet. God need to introduce you to this situation so in future you'll be tough. It is God's arrangement to bring J to you because you need this skill. A skill where you will not be bothered by bullies & learn how to walk away from them. I gave you an example of someone whom I know, who couldn't take criticism and resigned from a job and later regretted. So, if you know how to manage negative situations and turn it into positive situation or learn how to pull through, then you will not end up like mummy's friend, who now faces financial difficulties because she's out of job.
I said J doesn't have mummy to send her to school every morning. You have God and mummy to love you. So we must forgive J. Even though she's not going to be your good friend in future, we still must not act like her or respond badly to her bad treatment.
After hearing all this, you just brighten up. That smile on your face reassures me that you'll know how to take it positively whenever J or whoever behaves badly towards you.

16 Aug 2015
I corrected your breast stroke & reminded you to ensure your hands move just near the surface so that your body wouldn't sink in so much. We also learn the basic which is swimming straight with a board. While lying down on the bed tonight, you asked what if one day you fall sick when you are away from home i.e. in college. I said then you will have a room-mate to help care for you. You asked what if you are home sick. Can you come home and visit us? I said yes. I said ride on a bus to go back home every weekend last time. So a lot of money was spent on buying bus tickets.
23 Aug 2015
Notes on I believe in you. You have high perseverance. You always keep on trying and dare to take risk. You are independent.
20 Sep 2015
We were on 13 hours bus ride from Penang to KL. You learnt to sleep in the bus by yourself with C and she helped to look after JK when I go to the toilet.
4 Oct 2015
After our Penang trip, you seem to be more independent & tough. During the long journey, you had to endure being hungry, tired and not having a comfortable place to sleep. I was sitting with JK and daddy on the other side. Mummy was feeling nausea due to lack of food. I kept the food for you, C and JK because I was afraid we couldn't stop for food.
12 Oct 2015
I brought choc moist cake from secret recipe to daycare to celebrate your birthday. This morning you complimented mummy for making good choices as all my clothes fits me perfectly well. The other day you said I matched your clothes really well too. You like me to wear my white top and white pants. You also like me to wear jeans.
7 Dec 2015
Today it's your first day of science camp. You nap at day care without any of our pillows. You successfully learn how to sleep without your favorite pillows and learn how to find the right position to fall asleep. That's an achievement.
16 Dec 2015
You used the word whimpering and I'm impressed. That's the output from your reading.
18 Jan 2016
You have turned into a happy girl ever since you joined your new school. Even though I just lecture you for loosing your bottle, never shower whole day and never brush teeth. You laughed when l said the cooling button on the hair dryer puts out fire if your hair becomes too hot. Previously, after a lecture, you usually would still be upset.
You are more mature and love didi more. Today, you cuddle him and kissed him. I haven't seen this sort of act since when he was still a baby. I'm really happy when both of you show affection towards each other.
20 Apr 2016
You said Ryan asked you to go out of the class to the bag area. You asked him to tell what he wanted to tell. He closed his mouth with both hands and then opened to utter "I Love You" so quickly before he ran back into the class.
In the car on our way home from condo, you told me Ryan touched your back to help you to climb up the slope. You told him you were fine and asked him to go do other things. Then he said he didn't have anything else to do. Hahahaha....
At night, you asked why Ryan loves you. I said it's our body's chemical reaction. When they are close to the right body that matches, then that person will think it's love.
I told you that it's normal to have someone telling you that he/she loves you. You said having Ryan to love you is useful. I was shocked. "USEFUL"? I can't believe my ears. I asked why do you say it's useful? You said if you are in trouble he will be there to help you. Hahaha!!
I asked you if you did play at school today. You said yes. You also went to the library for awhile. then you said..hmm...tomorrow maybe you will spend sometime with Jacelyn then maybe spend some time with Ryan. Then you continued saying..."I don't know...I'm not sure yet....Hahahahhaha!!!!

8 years & 9 months old - 14 July 2016 First School Trip
It's your first school trip today & I'm thinking about you since I left you at school. I let you keep your GPS watch in your bag just incase you needed to call me. I know this is against teachers advice that is to pass it to her when you see her but I'm just too worry.
I couldn't sleep last night thinking about what else I should remind you when you're out there without me. I wrote few reminders on a piece of paper and put it in a plastic A4 sheet protector so you can read to remember not to leave your partner and group member, not to walk alone, wipe your hands before touching your food etc.
You packed your own extra clothes and stomach ache oil (Ruyi Oil and Minyak Cap Kapak) into JK's small monkey bag. Initially you didn't know which bag to take along. Then you finally chose JK's little bag. You didn't want to take your Rilakuma bag because you think it's too big. I let you have RM20 to buy KFC for lunch because that's what is written in the itinerary for lunch at 12:30pm.
When you came back from the trip, you said some of your friends had stomach ache so luckily you brought ruyi oil & you're the only one who has it. You said your teacher, Ms Mayes had migraine so you passed her the "Minyak Cap Kapak" to apply on her head. For lunch, all of you had KFC. You didn't drink the ice lemon tea because you didn't like it. You sat with Crystal because she said you're her best friend and best friend forever. She told you before the trip, which is the day after your class performance on the 27th June.
On 27th June 2016, after your performance with your friends on the stage, I manage to speak to Crystal's mum. After she took a picture of Crystal, Jacelyn and you together, I told her that both of you sits together for lunch every day. The next day, you told me you have a good news. You said that Crystal said you're her best friend and also her best friend forever. I congratulated you & felt very happy for you.
You said sometimes Crystal will hug you from the back & so you did the same to her. So sweet.

7 years & 6 months old
I found this in my office & I thought I should scan it and post it here so you can see it in future.
This weekend 19th April 2015 you will be singing solo "Over the rainbow" with a band which consists of 2 violinist, 3 key board player & 2 pianist. I hope your performance will be as good as we hope for. This month we skipped 3 British Council classes just to go for this concert's rehearsal from 2pm to 6pm every Sunday. Mummy manage to get you a pair of rainbow colour fairy wings for the concert from Toys R us as requested by the principal.
Next week from 23rd to 28th April you will be having your 1st term school exam. I hope you will be able to focus well & answer all the questions correctly.
Day care teacher said you're a very smart girl. You're a fast learner too.
This month we've been really busy with concert preparation and exam. We hardly have time to play & reading. However, after all this, we will be going for a holiday. Like I always said, there's time for play & time for work, both are equally important.
This month, mummy accidentally gave you some Japanese crackers which I've forgotten that it actually would cause you to be dreamy & unable to focus or blur at day care & at home. After awhile seeing you behaving this way, I tried to recall what had happened recently. Was it because mummy was feeling stressed which indirectly caused you to feel stress? Then slowly, I thought maybe it could be the snacks with MSG which I gave you recently. Although the amount given to you was very little, I was sure that it was those snacks which contribute to your inability to focus. Hence, I stopped immediately. Then I spoke to the day care teacher 2 days later. She said you're better these 2 days.
It's very pitiful not to have snacks, so mummy got you lots of delicious fruits as an alternative. However, over the weekends, mummy always let you eat whatever you like to eat, except Sunday night.
I love you lots.

7 years old
For your birthday, we invited Aunty Giok Mui and her girl over, Chien Yi. She's just 2 years old. You love her to bits. You also helped to look after her. Sue Yin, Sue Yin & Mag came to your party too. Da gu bought you Princess Elsa's dress. Mummy had given you your Lego Olivia's house in mid September.
Your standard 1 2nd term exam ended on the 15th Oct. You got all your results 90 and above. I'm so proud of you because we put in lots of effort in BM this term. Luckily we had Raya Qurban holiday on Monday. We started revising BM from 9am in the morning until bedtime for 3 days. Of course, in between, you're allowed to play and have a break. You did complained about the long hours of revision for BM. Luckily BM paper was on the first day after the 3 days break. So your memories were still fresh. I'm glad you did well this round. I'm most proud of your effort because at such a young age, you showed me your ability to push through difficult times and how you take pressure. Although it was difficult, but you continue to work hard.

First time sleepover 6 years & 10 months old
JK had conjunctivitis and spread to mummy, granny & ah yi. Daddy & kakak are safe at the moment. Mummy didn't want you to catch it so asked you to stay at Mag's house until we recover. You have been there since Tuesday. Today is Thursday. There, you have to wake up at 7am. When I asked you if you feel tired in the afternoon, you said you are not at all. You slept around 10.30pm last night. First night was at 11pm. Mummy miss you. I can't touch you, can't hug you. You and Mag comes back every day from school around 6.30pm to 7.15pm. Before that, mummy will spray the Ikea red table and green stools with hand sanitizer so both of you can sit there to have your dinner until Sin Yee ah yi comes to pick up both of you. While waiting, I'll ask you about school, whether your friends were good or bad today, did you shower at daycare today & remind you to wash your hands after toilet. You told me you missed me at night on the bed. I missed you too. I'm glad that at least I get to see you in the evening when you come back from school.

First' tooth extraction- 6 years & 9 mths
On the 2nd of July, you had your 2 bottom front teeth extracted due to your permanent teeth which had popped out since the week before. Mummy was worried that your permanent teeth will be crooked like mine when I was young. We actually had a walk-in appointment at one of the dentist at Puchong Jaya which was recommended by da gu. However, that morning, when we reached there, the nurse said there was a change in their appointment & we’ll have to wait till 11.30am & the person who has appointment will be attended first. Mummy couldn’t wait as I was on half day leave only. We went scouting for dentist. Most of them can only attend to walk-in’s by 4pm. You were upset & said “I told you, the nurse sure tells us we cannot see the dentist”. You were upset that they were all fully booked. I said “You are a child & your word is powerful. If you keep on saying there won’t be any dentist who will be able to see us then that’s what will happen”. So immediately you changed your words & said “We’ll find a dentist to see us, we will find a dentist to see us”. Miracle happened. The next clinic we found didn’t have a lot of appointment that day & it looks new & comfortable. There was only 1 patient before us. The dentist is a young man who looked like someone honest. His nurses looked cheerful & sweet. Overall, I guess I can trust them. Mummy’s past experience was horrible. I screamed so loud the whole hospital could hear. The nurse gave you a pair of sun glasses while you sit comfortably on the dentist chair watching cartoon. There were 4 teeth which were blocking the 2 front teeth. Dentist suggested extracting 2 for this round. He said if you’re fine with injections, then the extraction will not be painful. I was worried about how you’ll take it. Dentist insisted that he tells you the actual process to avoid future trauma. He was right. I’m glad he insisted than trying to fool you into the whole process which might breach the trust you have for me & dentists in future. First, we explained to me the whole process. Then he explained to you. He started off asking about your favorite color followed by a cute story.
Dentist: Can you see your 2 new teeth in the mirror? They are your new friends & they cannot come in because these 2 front teeth are blocking them. Do you think we can take these 2 away?
You: Yes.
Dentist: I’ll apply some gel for you in case you feel some ant bite.
You: OK
I can’t remember how he told you about the injections though. Anyway, you were very obliging. I was thinking “ZY, I hope you know what you’re agreeing to” & just hope the best for you.
The process went fast & smoothly. It was like a piece of cake for you. The dentist asked you to close your eyes when he was about to inject your gums. He tried to keep it out of your sight by holding it low. You have your sun glasses blocking part of the view of the big syringe. When the whole process was completed, the dentist made you a purple flower balloon as you told him earlier that your favorite colour is purple.
You skipped school that day & rest at condo. Mummy rushed to office & was still trembling.

Every morning, mommy sends you to daycare at 8.30am. There, you have tuition, a subject everyday, have lunch & shower. At 12.15pm, daycare's driver sends you & the other children to school. After school, another van sends you home with Magdelene & some other children.
You're quite happy at this daycare as the principle is a very loving person. She says you're a smart kid & you're a fast learner. Besides that, she also said that you're a cheerful girl & you always brighten up the teacher's day.
You wash your school shoes sometimes. You pack your books for the next day by yourself.
You are good at reading chinese characters & mommy feel so relief because I can't read chinese.
You're getting very good at math. You manage to complete 3 books most of the time within 1 hour. Mommy is so proud of you.
You stopped art for Mrs Seabourne's english class. Currently, on Saturdays, you have math in the morning then music in the evening. On Sundays, you have ballet in the morning & english in the afternoon.
We did went for a morning exercise on Saturday before but that was just once. Mommy jogged & you cycled. Now that didi's Heguru has started, we don't have time for that anymore. Maybe we'll do it on Sunday morning instead.
Sometimes, on Sundays, we would go to the playground, cycling or swimming.
I miss you alot at work.

Next month you'll be going to big school to attend your orientation for a week. Mommy's feeling very anxious about it. I'm afraid you'll get lost. I wish I can wait at the school for you until I'm sure you know the school well. Luckily you're not alone. You have Mag to go with you and both of you will be in the same class. This orientation starts from 8:30am to 12:30pm. Then aunty Pearl from daycare will fetch both of you and other children to her daycare. Mommy will pick you up from the daycare later at 6:30pm.Sin Yee ah yi and mommy will take half day leave on your first day to bring both of you to school & to buy the required exercise books.
On the coming Sunday, we'll go to the uniform shop to buy a set of school uniform, white school shoes & a big school bag.
Oh my, why do you have to grow up so fast.
I wish I've more time for you but I've to work to ensure we have sufficient money for everything.
You can shower & brush your teeth by yourself. Ever since you started going to Total Child, you wake up and get changed by yourself without being told. I'm so proud of you.
This month, we stopped Eye Level as you have extra dancing classes.

10am-10:45am Ballet

5 years and 10 months old
Today at the Chinese dance, I saw that you were very tired. However, you persevered. I never see you so determine before. Your performance is in Dec and today it's the second time you had to practice for 3 hours. Last week you were not well & had food poisoning. Even with that, you wanted to go for latin and Chinese dance. I was with you all the time at your dancing class to ensure that I'm there for you when you are tired, to hug you and to give you mental and emotional support. You were so willful to learn the dance steps, which are very confusing to me. Wow, I'm so impressed with you. I must write this down so that you know how proud I am seeing your determination and perseverance towards dancing. After dancing, you wanted to go cycling to show me you can cycle with 2 wheels now. Again, I'm very impressed with your determination. You were able to cycle on 2 wheels a little on your second attempt and successfully on your 3 attempts onwards. When you first cycled on 2 wheels, you had to stop because you were out of breath. It was too exciting for you that your whole face turned red and your heart thump so hard and fast. You were unhappy due to short of breath. I think you were disappointed at yourself for not able to continue to practice. Mummy and daddy told you it's normal and it happened to us before too. Your palms were all red and swollen abit as you gripped the handle very tightly on your first attemp. I'm so proud of you and love you so much.

How To Play Sand Art and Keeping the place clean
Mommy suddenly got an idea as to how to keep the sand away from the floor and table and everywhere.
First, take some newspapers. Clip the sides to make it into a tray. Cut the side of the newspaper to make a pocket to hold the packs of sand. This way, when you feel tired, you can always put the tray aside and continue doing the next day or whenever you feel like it.
