First' tooth extraction- 6 years & 9 mths

On the 2nd of July, you had your 2 bottom front teeth extracted due to your permanent teeth which had popped out since the week before. Mummy was worried that your permanent teeth will be crooked like mine when I was young. We actually had a walk-in appointment at one of the dentist at Puchong Jaya which was recommended by da gu. However, that morning, when we reached there, the nurse said there was a change in their appointment & we’ll have to wait till 11.30am & the person who has appointment will be attended first. Mummy couldn’t wait as I was on half day leave only. We went scouting for dentist. Most of them can only attend to walk-in’s by 4pm. You were upset & said “I told you, the nurse sure tells us we cannot see the dentist”. You were upset that they were all fully booked. I said “You are a child & your word is powerful. If you keep on saying there won’t be any dentist who will be able to see us then that’s what will happen”. So immediately you changed your words & said “We’ll find a dentist to see us, we will find a dentist to see us”. Miracle happened. The next clinic we found didn’t have a lot of appointment that day & it looks new & comfortable. There was only 1 patient before us. The dentist is a young man who looked like someone honest. His nurses looked cheerful & sweet. Overall, I guess I can trust them. Mummy’s past experience was horrible. I screamed so loud the whole hospital could hear. The nurse gave you a pair of sun glasses while you sit comfortably on the dentist chair watching cartoon. There were 4 teeth which were blocking the 2 front teeth. Dentist suggested extracting 2 for this round. He said if you’re fine with injections, then the extraction will not be painful. I was worried about how you’ll take it. Dentist insisted that he tells you the actual process to avoid future trauma. He was right. I’m glad he insisted than trying to fool you into the whole process which might breach the trust you have for me & dentists in future. First, we explained to me the whole process. Then he explained to you. He started off asking about your favorite color followed by a cute story. Dentist: Can you see your 2 new teeth in the mirror? They are your new friends & they cannot come in because these 2 front teeth are blocking them. Do you think we can take these 2 away? You: Yes. Dentist: I’ll apply some gel for you in case you feel some ant bite. You: OK I can’t remember how he told you about the injections though. Anyway, you were very obliging. I was thinking “ZY, I hope you know what you’re agreeing to” & just hope the best for you. The process went fast & smoothly. It was like a piece of cake for you. The dentist asked you to close your eyes when he was about to inject your gums. He tried to keep it out of your sight by holding it low. You have your sun glasses blocking part of the view of the big syringe. When the whole process was completed, the dentist made you a purple flower balloon as you told him earlier that your favorite colour is purple. You skipped school that day & rest at condo. Mummy rushed to office & was still trembling.
