Mommy's is 6 weeks pregnant

Mensus supposed to come around 21st Nov, last Sunday. However, it didn't. Although there were episodes of nausea, I didn't thought I'd get pregnant this round either. However, the syptoms were obvious on Thursday morning when I went to the mamak stalls near my office to buy a pack of noodles for my 2nd round of breakfast. It was like what I experienced during my first pregnancy; at one time I felt like eating that particular food, but the next minute, I don't....right after getting the food. So, that night, after having dinner with mom & Hwa, I checked out the price of the pregnancy test kit at the nearest clinic. It's like RM15 for 1. Forget it! So, we went home. While having my shower, I was still thinking about it. Should I wait till next week to check? Then until at last, I couldn't hold myself anymore and went straight out to get a test kit after finished taking my shower. The children followed me along with Yani. We passed by a "Yong Tau Fu" restaurant and that made me want to vomit. I couldn't even have another glance at it. That made me more convinced that I probably could be pregnant. Hehehe!! First, I checked the price at one of the pharmacy behind Guardian. The price is about RM10 for 1 test kit. So, forget it!. At last, I decided maybe I should go Guardian and check it out. I manage to get 1 box which contains 2 test kit and it only cost me RM15.90. Cheap & probably good enough I thought. Upon reaching home, I told the children I needed to go to toilet to do my big business (poop), hahah!! Hwa was observing actually. She knew what i was about to do. I went straight to the toilet & read through the instructions impatiently, peed in the tray provided & put the tip of the test kit in to soak. Slowly, I saw a red clear line...then another blur line started to show...and it became clearer & clearer... I was half holding my breath looking at the strip to watch out for 2 lines. Then I took the instruction box to double check again. Yup, I think I'm pregnant! I thought of giving daddy a surprise but I couldn't hold my excitement. I called him immediately. He was on his way home. I didn't carpool with him that Thursday because he needed to use the car to go Putrajaya for a meeting. Then I ran downstairs excitedly to announce the news. Hwa was right down there & Adam was there too. I got them to congratulate me & told them that I'm pregnant! :D Hwa said she thought so and she'd been praying for me this month too. Next day, I went to FGMC to confirm. Dr. Yap examined me and confirmed my pregnancy. I'm 5 weeks pregnant! The symptoms came very early for this 2nd pregnancy compared to my first pregnancy. During my first pregnancy, I could only detect during the 2nd week after my mensus due date.

"What big back side you have.."

"All the better to poopoo with". You said that on one of the morning when you were lying on the bed with me. You questioned and answered yourself. Another questions was "What big pet pet you have"..."All the better to shi shi with"....hahahaha!!!

 

Since last week, after you wake up, you'd take your empty milk bottle & water bottle downstairs for kakak to wash. You'll asked if I want to go downstairs with you. But I'll tell you mommy needs to sleep somemore because mommy needs to go to work later. You'll say "Oh, OK. You sleep then. Bye Bye"..and you'd close the door on your way out of the room. Thank you for being such a good girl dear..

 

There was also one time that I need to go out and meet Aunty Giok Mui & Hwa Shyan. Daddy's not feeling well. So i asked if you want to follow me out to meet them. You said you don't want. So i said then kakak would have to take care of you, is that alright? You said OK. You also waved bye bye to me and told me you'll play with kakak at home. I'm so touched you know. You're such a good girl now. I'm so proud of you.

 

You made a letter e with your finger last night. I think that's pretty creative. I complimented you for being so good at taking care of Mag. You told me you don't want to be a selfish Giant. Hahaha...actually you suppose to say girl instead of Giant. You said Giant because there was a story book about the selfish Giant. I like to put my arms around your stomach when we sleep. You always like to lie on my pillow & hug my extra pillow too. You also take my favourtie blanket. Hahaha!! See, mommy give you all mommy's favourite things. So, what i sleep on then? .. your tiny pillows...

 

You know, granny says you always are the one who create games for Mag to play with you. Sometimes you put the stool on the floor and pretend that the floor is a pond/lake and there're crocodiles in the water. Soemtimes  you pretend that you need Mag's help to carry some light things. You make it as if that thing you want to carry is heavy but actually it's not, you just want to distract Mag from crying. I'm so happy that you know how to take care of other people.

ABCs, Phonics, Disneyland characters, ballet, sushi & little bride

Mommy played the alphabet & phonics game with you on the iPhone. You got them all correct. I'm so happy. I also use the drawing magnetic board to teach you. The other day, I drew a picture & wrote 2 words & you need to choose the correct word. You got 4 out of 5 correct. Altho that's all you learn, but I'm very happy already cos I'm not consistent in teaching you everyday. At your age, some children already know how to read independently. For eg, mommy's best friend, aunty Yoke Peng's son, Adam.

 

About Disneyland characters, I showed you my friends photos which she took during her holiday in Hong Kong Disneyland. I showed you because we're going to HK disneyland next Chinese New Year and I want you to have an idea what you'll be seeing & expecting. You only like piglet. The rest, you said you're scared of them & they'll eat you up. Hahahaha!! I guess I'll have to think of something to overcome your fear. Otherwise, a trip there next year would be quite disappointing cos you'll be afraid of them all.

 

I bought you to Empire Subang again for another trial class. You still like it. The first time was 2 mths ago. Monthly fees is RM120. That's expensive compared to the one above Dr. Eddi Chan's clinic which is only RM50/mth. But you didn't like the one above the clinic. You said they "nyek nyek nyek nyek nyek". I assumed you meant they are noisy. Actually they are not. But you didn't seem to like it cos you were lying on the floor, or leaning against me, or looking in the mirror doing funny faces. You didn't show any interest at all. Sigh, I think if I ever going to sign you up for a ballet class, it would have to be the one in Empire SUbang.

 

You're such a big girl now. I love you very much. You can't wait for your turn to talk yet & you want now means now. So, sometimes you drive me crazy.

 

Lately, you love sushi. You can have 4 inari. When you're full, you tend to choose green peas. hahaha. So everytime you said you want green peas, I know you're full.

 

You love to share your food with Magdelene. Sometimes not but most of the time, you'll share. Whever I think of you, I want to laugh. You're so funny. I bought you kodomo lion orange flavour last night. You didn't like it. Hahaha!!

 

Aunty Mee LIn bought you a pretty princess dress. You really look like a baby bride when you put it on. I can imagine how you'd look like in a wedding dress. .. :) sweet...

First concert on 31st Oct 2010 (3 yrs old)

We're so excited & were very much looking forward to that concert day. We slept early so that we wouldn't be late to reach the place. Hwa ah yi & Roy drove you, Mag, granny & kakak to that school. Upon reaching, teacher took you & Mag in to get ready. Sin Yee Ah yi sent Mag to our house aroun 7:45am. We had this special arrangement cos we didn't want you two to cry and not participate in the concert. Teacher told us that 2-3 yrs old children can be a little unstable sometimes during concert. So, teacher was very happy that both of you didn't cry & were very steady.

The concert ended within 2 hours. All parents were very entertained. You had a Barney costume & Mag had a rabbit costume. Both of you also have another dress with a little cardigan which looked so pretty on you two.

We didn't have a good camera nor a video recorder to have a good shot of your concert. So, I'm very much looking forward to see the videos taken by the professional photographer hired by the school.

3 Yrs Old Birthday

You've been coughing for about 1 mth. You can't celebrate your birthday without a cake, that's what I thought. It was Thursday already & you didn't recover from your cough yet. So, I searched online to get eggless, non dairy cake. One of the bakery said that's called vegetarian cake. So, I looked for vegetarian cake online & found a website. It's the cafe near my office. I called up & told them I need a cake for my coughing toddler. So, that should be a non dairy & eggless cake with less sugar. She only bake eggless, non dairy chocolate cake. But she said she'll help me to think of some other cake she can make. At last, on Saturday, your birthday, we met her at Summit to collect the cake. It was a carrot cake with a lovely icing on it. You were so anxious. Daddy weren't with us as he had to send Kakak Yani to clean MS apartment. You wanted to eat it in the car but I said we don't have any plate. Then you fell asleep on our way home. Just when I put you on the mattress, you woke up & cried cos you wanted to eat the cake. Hahaha!! But I said we'll have to wait for yeh yeh, nai nai before we can cut the cake.

Then in the evening, when they came, after you & Sue Yin blew the candle & after we cut the cake, you tried it and didn't like it. hahaha! Well, it's OK for me as long as you enjoyed blowing the candles. You were a little upset as the cake didnt tasted nice for you. Then we unwrapped the presents. 

I think you're not very happy cos you didn't like the cake. You looked abit grumpy after that. But when all of them went home later, you looked chirpy again. Hmm..it could be because you were jealous I played with Sue Yin & Sue Lynn.. Haha..maybe..

 

First independent tele-conversation with baby

I called home. You picked up. I was surprised.

Mommy: Hello (feeling happy to hear your voice)

ZY: Yao zhao sui

Mommy: Jiao granny ting dien hua

ZY: Ni si shui

Mommy: Wo si shui ah?

ZY: mama....

Mommy: Li hai lah (I was very touched to hear you knowing who I am and you sounded so sweet over the phone)

ZY: Ni qu nali?

Mommy: mommy qu zuo gong

ZY: Ni yao hui lai liow ma?

Mommy: yao liow, mommy lei lei liow, mommy miss ni wor. Ni you miss mommy ma.

ZY: You..

Mommy: Mommy kiss kiss ni ha..chut chut chut chut. Ni you ting dao ma?

ZY: You..

Mommy: Ni you guai ma..

ZY: You..

Mommy: Jiao Granny ting dien hua..

 

Then granny picked up the phone and told me that she didn't teach you to say anything else except to ask who is that.

Your voice is so sweet, gentle & calm. I didn't expect you to ask me so many questions by yourself. After spending almost everyday with you when Min Chee ah yi was in M'sia, I miss you almost everyday at work now.

Although I was sick with flu yesterday, I didn't want kakak or granny to help me to babysit you. Cos I just want to spend time with you, although I'm so tired. We played musical games, flash cards etc. You know, on Monday you slept at 1am and woke up at 6am, then slept back at 7-8am then at 3pm to 6pm? You nearly drive me nuts yesterday. Luckily you manage to sleep early around 11pm last night.

Polite little 2 y/o and 9 mths toddler

You're so polite recently. You've turned into a polite little girl. You'd say thank you while looking into my eyes when you're given soemthing to eat, a toy or etc. Sometimes you forgotten but most of the time, you'd say it. When you sneeze, you would say excuse me. When you need to ask daddy to move abit, you'd say excuse me too. You're so tiny and you sound so cute...You never fail to  make me smile.

 

When it comes to sharing, you have improved too. I'll tell you "It's oK if you're not ready to share now. Rest for a while okay? When you're ready, you let me know." Then after 1 minute, I'd ask again " Are you ready now? " If you're not, then I'd say OK again & asked you to take another rest and let me know when you're ready to share. After awhile, you'll sure to share your toys and pass it to whoever who wants your toy and give them a big hug. I'm happy with this improvement. Magdelene is also better at sharing her toys with you now. I'd tell her that it's OK that she's not ready now and tell her to take a rest until she's ready to share her toys. She'd share after taking 1-2 minutes rest. Sometimes, if you take like ages to rest, then i'd say, OK, i'll count to 10, after that you let me know if you're ready to share. Usually, before I count to 10, you'd tell me " I'm ready" and you'll make me smile. I'm really happy that you learn to share your toys slowly. You know, you did the same to kakak. You asked kakak to count to 10 cos you're not ready to have a shower. Hahaha! You told kakak you needed a rest "Kakak, wo yao siu si yi sia". "Kakak, count to 10". Hahaha!!

 

You know, you also likes to make Magdelen smile by giving her a very wide smile and look at her. Just sometimes, you're too loud, maybe you're too young to be aware of that, you actually frighten her.

 

 

Recovery from HFMD

On Saturday, Mommy brought you to Mian dui Mian for lunch and we had noodles, just to check if you have truely recovered from mouth ulcers. Indeed, you've 100% fully recovered. Daddy were resting/sleeping at home. You had almost a bowl of noodles & a bowl of soup. I was afraid it'd be too much for you but you just didn't want to stop and leave the place. So, I let you have a bit more then we left.

 

Granny has taken good care of you. You drank enough fluid and you only have 1 or 2 red spots on your palm compared to Carmella's palm. Carmella had so much probably due to staying under the hot sun too much during the weekend in Segamat. They went to Segamat to visit gong gong and they played kite.

 

Only yesterday, you manage to meet up with them ever since we came back from Phuket cos we went out for dinner with everybody to celebrate granny's birthday. We bought granny a new handphone. She likes to take pictures of you and Magdelene jie jie. It cost Rm1350.

 

Mommy gave Max & Carm your Cataflam and it helped relief their pain. Mommy's very heart sick to see them sick too. Poor Carmella's hand has so much blisters and I bet she had alot of ulcers too. Max gege drank alot of water in order to recover faster. Both of them were very brave & didn't cry except Carmella when she hurt her ulcers when she ate the cake..

 

Yesterday night, after dinner, you played lantern with ge ge jie jie. You had orange deer lantern, MAg had a bear lantern, Carmella had a red dear lantern & gege had a Ben10 lantern. You all had fun. We switched off the car porch lights and the living hall lights. It was lovely to see those lanterns. Min Chee ah yi was pleased that Max gege & Carmella Jie jie manage to join you & mag to play lantern this year. She said next year she'll come back twice. Mommy's very happy to hear that.

 

Yesterday, you were playing with the broom after getting tiRed of the lantern. Carmella wanted the broom too. You didn't want to give it to her. But I told you it's OK  that you're not ready to shAre with jie jie and to rest for awhile and told you "When you are ready, you share with jie jie". Then you went to a corner and told me you wanted to rest there for awhile. You were squatting down. Haha!!. After like 1 minute, you told me "mommy, I want to give jie jie". I thought your expression was very funny.

 

Yesterday, we played music & paint with Max & Carmella after Mag has gone home. Mag was very sick. She couldn't eat anything cos she kept vomitting. Doctor said she must stop eating for awhile. She's so pitiful..

 

You wanted gege & carmella jie jie to sayang you. You liked them so much. You always want to please Mag but sometimes you accidentally made her cry by talking too loud or tryng to be bossy or possessive over your toys.

 

There was 1 day, granny went over to mag's house to take care of Sin Yee ah yi and Mag. You asked kakak " granny bu sayang zhi ying liow ah?" ZHi Ying huai dan bu guai ha?" Oh my, we're surprised that you could ask questions like this and surprised with your perception about granny going over to Mag's house.

 

Then another incident on Saturday. You were in the car with daddy & mommy. You couldn't sit stilll and I scolded you after you failed to listen to my order to ask you to sit down when the car is moving. You cried and asked for daddy who was driving. But daddy said "no, you were naughty and you didn't listen". Then you cried louder. At last, you cuddle you over and sayang you. Then you ask me "daddy hai you sayang zhi ying ma" in a very sad tone. Oh..you melted our heart intantly.

Daddy said he'll sayang  you when we reached home. So, after 10 minutes, we reached home. We have totally forgotten that you're waiting for daddy to cuddle you. So we went on unpacking things we bought from the market...busy as usual. Then you cried as if you're totally heart broken and asked daddy to carry you.

Only then we realised, you're waiting for daddy to carry. You lean your head on daddy's shoulder and sob sob. Daddy melted too. Hahaha!!

 

 

 

 

 

Baby's pitiful episodes of HFMD

You saw us eating wantan noodles for dinner on Monday. You wanted some. I put some on your bowl. You sat on your chair looking at the bowl. Then with some courage you took a small spoon and put into your mouth. Then you shivered in pain holding tight to your cheeks and you cried. Poor baby... i felt so sorry that you had to go thru this. You couldn't take ice-cream or vitagen too. They all hurt as well. You said "wo bu ke yi chi" while crying sadly. You wanted so much but it was just too painful for you. Since Monday, You've only been drinking milk, vege soup, barley drink & plain water. You couldn't brush your teeth as well & your toungue had a white layer on it due to milk & medicine consumption.

Since we were back from Phuket, I dare not mention about Max ge ge, Carmella, Min Chee Ah Yi or Uncle James. I'm worried  you'd cry and want gege to sayang you. But we can't have gege to come over cos you're very contagious. You loved gege so much. There was 1 mornign in Phuket, you woke up and asked for gege. You said "wo yao gege sayang zhi ying"..while crying. Then gege just woke up that time and came out from his room. He saw you crying & he came to our room. Then you hugged his stomach while still sobbing a little bit. Gege then put his hands around you. he looked half asleep though.

I'm so sad that we couldn't spend more time with them cos you fell sick & they are going back next Thursday - 26Aug. I'm extremely sad. But I'm also super extremely sad to see your suffer. I'm so sorry. I feel that probably it could be my carelessness that your immune system went low that allowed the HFMD virus to attack you.

I'm so sorry baby....

HFMD the 4th & 5th day

Yesterday was your 4th day of HFMD since Sunday. I remembered on Sunday, you still manage to eat a bit of noodles. But unlike usual, you just had 2 spoons. I guess that's about when your ulcers starting to hurt you more. So, we can count that as your first day of getting HFMD.

Mag got slight sore throat too. On Tuesday, Uncle Adam took her to Dr. Ting and was given Zovirax. Dr. TIng said that this medicine will cure her ulcers in 3 days. SO, I called Dr. Chan to ask about this medicine and also to ask him about your purging. You purged a little bit in your pants yesterday morning. So, I'm not sure if it was normal or not. However, Dr. Chan confirmed that there's nothing to worry about unless you purge alot for 4-5 times a day & as long as you urinate like normal, you're fine. He also asked to check the colour of your urine. If it's very yellowish, it's a sign of dehydration. But so far, your urine looks fine according to Granny & Kakak Yani. Dr. Chan said Zovirax is a very strong medicine which he only plans to give you on your 6th day if you still hasn't recover. I asked if i can start giving you zovirax as I can't bear to see you suffer anymore. He insisted that I wait till Friday. FYI, daddy & i didn't like Dr. TIng so much as he always give super strong medication. Like daddy said, what if 1 day this super strong medicine cannot cure you, by then Dr. will need to prescribe you with another stronger medicine which is harmful to your organs. Unless we can't get Dr. Chan or Dr. Cheok, we'll go for Dr. Ting..or maybe we won't.

 

Fyi, after we seen Dr. Chan on Monday evening, Mommy took you to Dr. Cheok on Tuesday for 2nd opinion & I wanted to ask for Cataflem. You've used Cataflem before and it works well to numb your mouth so that you won't feel so painful. It also has a little bit of Brufen content for fever & it works as painkiller. Dr said if you're taking Cataflem, you don't have to take Brufen anymore. Otherwise, I'll be overdosing you with Brufen. That was a good advice and i get to know more about medicine.

 

Daddy boiled vege soup "su chai tang" for you on Monday. It helps your recovery too.

 

Today you seems better. Few of your ulcers already disappear. Yesterday, i notice your red dots on  your buttocks were drying up and some have disappeared. I'm so glad that you're recovering. Thank God.

It's all mommy's fault :'( for causing you to get HFMD

We were in Phuket since Fri, 13th Aug. Baby had fever since Saturday. Then on Sunday, I saw 3 "pencil-dot" sized ulcer in her mouth. On Monday, I suspected that it's HFMD. She had red dots on her feet & hands. Upon reaching home, we took her to Dr. Chan and he confirmed that it's HFMD. He prescribed Augmentine (antibiotic) to kill all the germs, vitamin C, Brufen for fever & as painkiller, Inflammation tablet & Airloclaire to build a mucus layer on her ulcer. I realised non of these numb her ulcers. So, I went to Dr. Cheok to get Cataphlem. It works well to reduce her pain according to granny.

 

Doc said it'll take 5-7 days to cure. :'(. Poor baby. I'm so heart sick. I think it was my carelessness for not taking care of you well when we're in Phuket. Hence your immunity dropped and the HFMD virus attacked you. Even though doc said you got it from school, but I still think that you could avoid this if I was more careful. I thought i should quit being the most particular mother on cleanliness & be moderate. Ah Yi & granny always complained that I'm over reacting when it comes to cleanliness.

 

:'( I should have be more careful. It breaks my heart to see you suffer my baby. I'm so sorry.

Dreamt about Baby turning into a wooden block

I had a bad dream last night that you turned into a wooden block after you muttered 2-3 words. You entered the shop and you were standing at the wall there. You stood there and muttured some words and the next thing was you turned into a wooden block. I took you back to our villa. Tried to say some mantra to get you back but you remain as a block. :'(. I cried and cried. Later, there was a lady at the villa who tried to help me. She tried some mantras too. Until at last she got the right mantra and the wooden block suddenly changed into a twisted you, like how the wet clothes were wrung and slowly loosen up and you stood there. I quickly went over and hold you tight. I was so glad to have you back. You looked blur. Later, I gave you some water and I think I woke up after that. You were sleeping beside me and I'm so glad that it was just a dream.

 

In my dream, every morning at the villa, there's a man wearing yellow colour robe who would kneel down and do some praying. It's a peaceful place.

 

In the bed room, between the two beds, there's a stripe carpet.

 

Below the bed, under the place you put your legs when you sleep, was where you could put your dirty clothes.

 

Outside our bedrooms, there was a pond, like a garden, with lots of flowers, looked sacret, like a forbidden place.

 

What a spooky dream.... :S

Mommy is so tired today after that long dream.

 

 

 

Tweedle wink at last - 2 yrs 9 mths+

At last, mommy signed you up for tweedle wink classes. You've been in Shichida's waiting list for too long since January 2010. You're almost 3 yrs old now, coming to the end of the 0 to 3 vital years. I had to let you join something at least if we can't join shichida. I just thought maybe this would help your studies in future, help you to have that photographic memory ability so that you will not have hard time memorising facts in your studies next time. Also, hoping that you wouldn't end up crying everytime you need to sit for an exam. Since tweedle wink's teaching method is based on learning in a loving environment and learning through play, I feel that this is good as you will have fun as most activities would seem like lots of games to you. 

 

As next month Min Chee Ah yi will be back with Max, Carm & uncle James, you'll have to start the classes only on 28th August. As it was almost the end of a semester, we just paid for 4 weeks first ie. RM400. Registratiion is RM300 adn deposit is RM300. Total damage is RM1k. Mommy's broke.

 

Sensei sayonara

Last night for the first time you sang the song by yourself. You sang the song correctly, accurately and it sounded really nice. It's a japanese song from Shichida.  Told granny that it's a japanese song. Granny was very impressed. We're on our way to pick daddy up from his office in Bangsar. Later, we went to Bangsar Shopping Centre to have japanese food for dinner. You've recovered from diarhea. However, you were still having flu, not serious though.

Pick the right card - 2 yrs 8 mths old

It was Sunday (4th July 2010) and we're on the bed. Mommy placed 4 mini picture cards face down which shows the pig, bird, train & duck. Then mommy shuffled the cards. You had a glance at them, all faced down. Then mommy closed your eyes and asked if you could choose the card which shows the bird from the 4 mini cards. Mommy opened your eyes after 10 seconds and you picked the correct card! mommy then tested you on the rest of the card and you got them all correct! It might be a coincidence but I think it is true ..maybe..that children has that special ability to feel what's underneath the cards without looking at them.

But when mommy tried again..you didn't get them right already..hmm..or is it we could only play this game for 1 time?

3rd July Saturday, baby vomited

You vomited in the car on our way back home from da gu's condo after swimming session.

In the middle of the night, after about 6 rounds of vomitting, daddy gave you some barley. You're on the bed looking very tired and weak. I told you that daddy boiled this sweet barley for you. You said "Thank you daddy". Both of us felt very touched cos you're just 2 yo and 8 mths old and you could still say thank you although you were not feeling very well that time.

 

Next day, when you're better, we brought you out to IOI to buy some of your things. Daddy spotted a doll on the shelf when you're desperately asking us to take you to the play area. So he quickly showed you the doll. You liked it. You saw a tortoise with blocks too. You liked that too. But when we asked which one you prefer, and daddy said choose dolly lah..you then said "Ok lah". Hahaha! Your response was funny and made me laughed. Then mommy chose another doll for jie jie Chuen Shuin. It cost RM79.90 for a doll! But we have no time to go around searching and there wasn't any other cute dolls around except barbie doll which i think it's not very cute. THe doll that we bought for you has a milk bottle and a comb. You can even shower the doll as it has a hole at the bottom.

 

We bought dolly for you because Sue Yin has dolly and you seemed to love to play with it. So, we think you should have your own dolly too. You'll learn how to care for little baby if mommy is blessed with another child. Hehe!

 

Baby's development at 2 years 8 months

Nowadays, when she feels sleepy at night around 11pm, she'd say, "Mommy, lets go to bed. Zhi Ying is tired" and walks up the stairs slowly. Then I'll read 1 or more stories before she turns around and goes to sleep, depending what she wants & how tired she is. Sometimes she sleeps in her baby cot,  sometimes on our big bed. Before story time, she usually drinks 7Oz of milk. After that, I'll brush her teeth before she goes to sleep or before reading to her. She still wears diaper at night as I'm too tired to get up to take her to the toilet. Every morning when she wakes up, she smiles and looks really cheerful. I really love her so much. Sometimes, she plays in the babycot, button & unbuttoning my shirt which I put aside in her baby cot for her to play with. Sometimes, she asks me to go downstairs with her after she wakes up. Before going to school, she drinks 7Oz of milk. Then, granny would send her & Mag to school around 8:30am. They look very cute in their pink uniform. They have been eating noodles 2 meals a day with veges, mostly ladies fingers as Zhi Ying is bored with rice & broccoli. I bought organic spinach noodles for them and Organic black sauce to mix with the noodles. Zhi Ying loves the noodles & ladies fingers. But since yesterday, I've asked the maid to cook rice for her & Mag for dinner and asked the maid to cook the veges like adults veges. Surprisingly, they could accept rice after this long break.

Nowadays, she gets along very well with Mag. Both of them play like crazy together sometimes. Their conversation is very funny most of the time. We're always very entertained listening to them talk and play with each other.

She can read a little now. I should say memorise infact. She loves Bobo Bear's Birthday, I (Benjamin Bunny) had an accident, My sandwich, The Happy Elephant, Look Out Little Chicks, Little Red Riding Hood, 3 Little Pigs & Goldilocks. Most of the time, she reads Bobo Bear's Birthday.

Every night after she finish drinking her milk, i'll brush her teeth. I must say, she has improved alot and she's very obedient. She lets  me brush her teeth and would spit out the water when told. Only at times when she's extremely tired, she'd accidentally swallow the water.

In the middle of the night, if she's sleeping in the baby cot and if she feels hot, she'll climb up to my bed. Or if she's sleeping on our bed and she feels cold, she'd crawl into her baby cot next to our big bed and curl up in one corner. She didn't like blanket so she would find a spot where she wouldn't get much of the cold air.

Yesterday daddy was impressed by her ability to put back 5-pc puzzle which she found at Sue Yins condo. It was first time she showed interest in puzzle and she managed to put 80% back by herself, some 100% by herself. There were about 8 different sets of animals puzzles in the box. She seems to like those puzzle very much.

Last month, I've forgotten to update this blog. Just want to put it here that Zhi Ying can sing very well the good-bye song from The Sound of Music. She'd rest her head on the back of her palm, at the stair case, and wait for me to carry her upstairs while she's singing the song slowly and with feelings. SO DRAMATIC AND CUTE!

hAHAhaha. My lovely little 2.5 yo girl really melts my heart. She's turning into a wonderful child i.e. more obedient, as long as an order comes with an explanation. Hehe!

This happened last 2 mths i think..where she mentioned to me before that if we didn't buckle our seat belts, the police man would catch mommy, throw mommy away and bang bang. I don't know where she gets the throw and bang idea from. Then another time we're in the toilet, she wanted to pee, she was on the toilet seat and try to shake here and there, then she stopped and told me "cannot like that, later zhi ying will drop into the toilet bowl, then flush away, then no more zhi ying, how?"

Hahahaha!

Sometimes, when she sees granny going out, she'd ask if granny's going out and with who. There was 1 time she tried to lecture Hwa ah yi. Hwa ah yi was teasing her by looking at her through the toilet roll. Zhi Ying went "Ah Yi, don't do like that. It's not funny" with her finger gesturing no no. We didn't expect that she'd say that to Hwa ah yi. It's like mimicking me. That's how i talk to her when i lecture her.

There was 1 time when she made Mag cry and she blame it on Yani. :S so naughty.

She can do funny face, close one eye and do the "the the the the.." sound very fast. She's so funny.

She will put back her toys when we told her to do so. She's becoming an angel day by day. Thank God...

 

Zhi Ying fell down (2yrs 8mths)

The other day we had dinner with Yeh yeh, nai nai, Uncle Henry, Da Gu, Siew Yien, daddy, mommy & you at a japanese restaurant in IOI boulevard, Ayoma. After dinner, we walked around IOI boulevard. You were so exited to see fountains and very chatty with nai nai, yeh yeh & da gu. You were so excited that you didn't realise da gu were with us all the while. Whn you realised after that, you said " Da gu, wo mei you kan dao ni oh"..meaning you didn't see her just now. You pulled mummy's hand, took mummy around to see the square lights and the nicely painted floor at the IOI Boulevard's concourse area.

Later, we went to IOI mall as it was still early i.e. 8:30pm. You were so excited and ran about until you didn't tell mummy earlier that u wanted to go toilet. So, the moment you told me that you wanted to go toilet, it was too late. You couldn't hold and you peed on the floor. Mummy got angry and changed you. Asked you to sit on the bench with mummy while trying to clean your shoes with daddy standing there putting your wet pants into a plastic bag. Then suddenly you fell off the bench and landed on your back. Mommy was devastated and quickly picked you up. I'm so sorry for being such a careless mom. You were so active and how could I let you fall down again. I wished Yani was there to help out. With Yani around, you wouln't have fallen that day. God, I wish it's just a small bump that's all.

2.5 years old tantrum

I'm very upset today and very heart broken. Zhi Ying hit me. She didn't want to let Sue Yin touch the arm-rest so she hit Sue Yin. I pulled her away. Then Sue Yin looked at Zhi Ying and again put her hand on the arm-rest which made Zhi Ying angry and again, wanted to hit her. I stopped her and she was very angry until she hit and shouted at me repeatly for 2-3 times. She felt guilty instantly and started to cry and put her head on my chest. My heart broke as she never hit me so badly before with that super upset look on her face like "why is she keep touching the arm rest and why r u stopping me?"  I told her "Can hit mummy or not?" She said no and cried even louder. I told her to say sorry and she did. She just cried and cried feeling upset about Sue Yin and feeling guilty that she hit me. Then I hugged her and told her "you cannot hit mommy and cannot hit Sue Yin ok? Mummy love u. That is not Zhi Ying's arm rest and not Sue Yin's arm rest, so you cannot hit Sue Yin. That is yeh yeh's arm rest". 

I'm so disturb by this incident and I even surf the internet to find a solution to this misbehaviour. Some mother's advice was to implement time-out. However, come to think of it, distracting her with something she likes to eat whenever she starts to get mad with Sue Yin helps, at the same time telling her that Sue Yin is her younger cousin sister and she cannot hit her. Most of the time, she'd be able to accept this better than scolding her or giving her time-out which can make both of us more stressful. I know she must be wondering why she has to keep on giving in to Sue Yin. But sooner or later, she has to learn to give in sometimes. She does give in sometimes and all of us will compliment her. Maybe out of 5 times, she'd give in 2-3 times. I think that's good enough. I'll just have to remember to distract her with her favourite snack if this happens again and tell her that she cannot hit Sue Yin anymore. I've forgotten to do that today and worsen the situation. Probably it was also about her nap time already. I prefer to opt for this method than hitting her or implementing time-out. Sometimes, you cant have time-out when you're outside the house.

Totally Wean Off - 2 yrs old 4 months

Zhi Ying has been able to go about without her diaper since last 2 months. But lately, she's peeing in her pants in school again. I think it must be the side effect of weaning off breastfeeding. The first week when I stopped bf, for 1 week, she woke up in the middle of the night & requested me to take her downstairs for 1-2 hours to play. On the 3rd day, I was feeling extremely exhausted. She wanted me to play Playdough with her. While she was playing, I walked to the kitchen for awhile to wash my hands. When I was in the kitchen, I cried to myself "BooHooo....I'm so so so tired...I'm really really tired....boohoo hoo hoo....". Seriously, I'm really tired & hope she'd sleep thru the night soon again, back to her normal routine. I knew it was a process that i've to go thru as she's going thru some changes i.e. stop bf and she's waking up in the middle of the night to compensate the lost feeling of bf by asking me to spend time playing with her. Then I heard Zhi Ying who was sitting in the living room saying "ni ku ku ah? zho mo ni ku ku ah?" (you cry cry? Why you cry cry?) in a soft & gentle tone as if talking to a baby (like how i talk to her when she cry). I thought she didn't hear me cry cos i was in the kitchen & I was very suprised when i heard her saying that. Such a caring tone.

Then i walked to her & this is our conversation:

 

Me: mommy is tired, mommy wants to sleep

ZY: Oh, ni tired ah, ni yau sui jiao ah?

Me: Mmm..wo bu yao want play dough liao

ZY: Oh, ni bu yao wan play dough liao ah..OK OK.

Me: Can we go to bed?

ZY: Oh, Ok OK,

Me: But you haven't wash your hands. Can we take the red colour chair to wash your hands?

ZY: Oh, Yes, Ok Ok

Me: Thank you Zhi Ying

 

After we washed our hands..

 

Me: Oh, we haven't put back the Playdough..

ZY: Oh, OK put back the Playdough (quickly & steadily)

Me: Thank you Zhi Ying. Can we take the mattress?

ZY: Oh, OK, Zhi ying is tired, Zhi Ying wants to go to bed already.

 

Then I gave her the big soft toy dog & her pillow.

 

ZY: Mommy, go at the back, pat pat here.

Me: Oh, sorry, OK.

 

Then ZY tried to sleep. She lay there for so long, i think about 15 minutes before she really fell asleep. Usually, if she's sleepy, she'll doze of in 5 minutes. But that night, I think she was trying to take care of me, to let me rest so she tried to go to sleep although she's not sleepy. I'm so touched & I thank her for being such an understanding girl.

 

Yesterday, teacher Amy called me in the evening to remind me of the school fees. Then she told me Zhi Ying has been a little teary in school and asked if there's anything happened at home. I told her I've stopped bf & maybe that's the reason Zhi Ying hasn't been herself lately. She also told me that she's been asking where is teacher Sheryn most of the time in school and asked if we did mention about teacher Sheryn to her at home. I told her it was Zhi Ying who told us about Teacher Sheryn most of the time. Teacher Amy was very suprised and told her that actually Zhi Ying is teacher Sheryns favourite girl altho Teacher sheryn is not her class teacher & probably Zhi Ying could sense that Teacher Sheryn has her heart on her. Teacher Sheryn is not teaching Zhi Ying's class at all actually. I told teacher Amy that I didn't know that she's not in Zhi Ying's class as Zhi Ying mentioned about Teacher Sheryn so often until I thought she's teaching in her class. I also thought Teacher Sheryn probably would have a tough time with Zhi Ying clinging to her all the time. At home, Zhi Ying always tell me she wants Teacher Sheryn to carry her. Whenever asked who else at school, she'd tell me there's teacher Sheryn, followed by kakak..then again..teacher sheryn. She even told me that teacher Sheryn carry her when she fell down at school when i spotted a big bruise on her left leg. Teaher Sheryn also mentioned that she didn't want to put on her undies herself lately but wanted the teacher to put it on for her. Teacher Amy said she's a little "manja" lately.

 

Zhi Ying has grown into a thoughtful & understanding girl, although once in a while, she'd have some tantrums. But that's when there's some changes like going to school the first time, stop breast feeding or lack of mommy time, which she would sometimes wake up in the middle of the night to ask me to play with her.

 

Now that I've stopped nursing Zhi Ying, as a replacement, especially in the car, I'd prepare some bread with cheese or raisin and place them in her orange colour multi partition box (it's like a toy) for her to munch. I bought that from Ace. Hope to get another one cos it's so useful. It looks like a vitamin box that are joint together.

 

I feel very sorry to stop bf. Stopping bf has that emotional impact on both ZHi Ying & I. So I really understand what she's going through. It is emotionally tough for me and more on her i think. But I'm sure, both of us will get over it soon.
